Event Details

The ‘I Will Reflect’ initiative is part of a worldwide cause founded by SpaFinder, Inc. in 2007. Gaining momentum around the globe, the initiative seeks to educate the public about melanoma detection and prevention. The campaign encourages residents to pledge ‘I Will Reflect’ and join the movement to help reduce the impact of melanoma, which is the most serious, often life-threatening, form of skin cancer. The campaign starts in May—Melanoma Awareness Month—and continues through August, with the Spa at Charleston Place hosting a variety of special events, speaking engagements, beach sweeps and other community efforts, in conjunction with partnering organizations such as Little Black Book (for every busy woman), Cos Bar, Firefly Distillery and others. The Spa invites the public to “reflect” on the dangers of melanoma and become educated on ways to prevent sun-related skin damage, including annual full-body mole checks and safe sun habits. Photosensitive “I Will Reflect” wristbands which change color when exposed to harmful UV rays serve as a reminder to protect yourself from the sun and will be available for purchase throughout the campaign. Spa patrons can also receive 25% off specific rejuvenating treatments, accompanied by a complimentary skin consultation and safe sun tips for the skin. During May, the Spa will donate 10% of all proceeds to the MUSC Fund. The Spa is hosting a ‘I Will Reflect’ cocktail soiree and swimwear fashion show featuring select retailers. The Spa at Charleston Place, 205 Meeting St. Monday, 3:30pm. Donation suggested.
