Join Mary Edwards, neighborhood expert, and Susan Williams, co-author of Upheaval in Charleston, on a tour of Hampstead Village, which was designed after the historic English town model. Once a hub of Civil Rights history, it now faces demolition due to neglect. Walk along Columbus and America streets and discover why there’s more to Charleston’s first suburbs than meets the eye. The second in a series of five historic markers from the Civil Rights era will be unveiled. Meet at Trident Technical College, Palmer Campus, 66 Columbus St. Saturday, 10am-noon. $20; $15 member.
