Join “Gullah Lady” Sharon Cooper-Murray for a day of rag quilting. This traditional Gullah form of quilting folk art grew on Wadmalaw and John’s Islands during the Antebellum period, and Cooper-Murray is on a mission to preserve the tradition. Learn how to combine grain sacks and rag strips to create unique quilts at her lecture and hands-on workshop. The Charleston Museum, 360 Meeting St. Saturday, 9:30am-1:30pm. $45; $40 member.
