Event Details

They earned a steady following over their eight-year career in Charleston, but now the band Crowfield is saying goodbye, and this one-night only farewell is not to be missed. Buddies Joe Giant and Tyler Mechem moved to Charleston in 2005 and began gigging around town as Bell, playing piano-fueled covers at O’Malley’s and Johnson’s. By 2007, they’d gotten serious and formed Crowfield. The band snagged their first radio play on 96 Wave with “Jesus In My Pocket.” In 2008, Crowfield released their first album, the alt-country Goodbye, Goodnight, So Long Midwestern, and by 2010 big labels were after the rock group. Choosing to go their separate ways, the band says of the split, “We have seen enough to know we have seen enough. And it's a beautiful sight.” Charleston Music Hall, 37 John St. Friday, 8pm. $20.
