Celebration for a Cause
Join us Wednesday, May 1st for a wonderful event to raise money and awareness for severely injured veterans that served our country.
“Celebration for a Cause” is being hosted by Stacy Pearsall, a disabled combat veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom, a board member of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at The Citadel, and owner of the Charleston Center for Photography (CCP). Along with running CCP, she volunteers countless hours to helping fellow veterans, and is proudly affiliated with The Independence Fund, an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)3 who’s Board of Directors is comprised entirely of combat veterans. For her efforts, the White House recently honored her as a Champion of Change.
The Celebration will take place at The Citadel's Johnson Hagood Stadium in the Pearson Lounge on the 4th floor. Tickets include heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer, door prizes, entertainment and a live auction. All proceeds benefit the Independence Fund. Honorary guest, Sgt. Major Jesse Acosta, will talk briefly about his challenges as a wounded combat veteran blinded by a bomb explosion in Iraq, and how his experiences through the Independence Fund helped improve his quality of life. In addition to Jesse's extraordinary story, Stacy Pearsall will also share her own riveting story of heroism under fire and compelling photographs as well as her own challenges of survival and recovery.
We welcome you to join Stacy's festivities by purchasing tickets for the "Celebration for a Cause" fundraising party. With every ticket purchase, each attendee will be given a complimentary ticket to the Lt. Dan Band Concert, hosted by actor Gary Sinise, which will take place in Charleston on September 14, 2013.
