Descendants of the first settlers in Maryland, raised by a grandfather who was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and these four women led fascinating lives. They traveled across the Atlantic to enchant and be enchanted. Expert biographer, Jehanne Wake researched the stories of these four influential women as they broke all the boundaries and disproved expected stereotypes. Using very personal letters that have never been published, Wake shares a story of sisters' love and the extraordinary power of money and charm.
