Event Details

“If we shadows have offended, think but this; and all is mended that you have but slumbered here while these visions did appear,” says the plucky Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Resident choreographer Jill Eathorne Bahr brings Shakespeare’s dream world to life via dance, welcoming the audience into a magical forest where mischief lies at every corner, men become asses, fairies appear, and lovers woo. As a bonus, on the same night enjoy George Balanchine’s abstract Allegro Brillante set to the music of Tschaikovsky and Bahr’s dark and menacing Poetry With A Splash of Red Blood set to the music of minimalist composer Philip Glass. The College of Charleston Sottile Theatre, 44 George St. Saturday, 7:30pm; Sunday, 3pm. $45-$20. (843)723-7334, www.charlestonballet.com
