CARMINA BURANA

A culmination of 150 Charleston Symphony Chorus singers, more than 60 Charleston Symphony Orchestra musicians, three guest voices, and 28 Nashville Ballet dancers, Carmina Burana is a performance of stunning scale. The ballet, opening with “O Fortuna,” is set to the compositions of German composer Carl Orff. Composed in the 1930s, Carmina Burana is based on a collection of poems written by 11th- to 13th-century theology students. If the sheer size of the performance isn’t enough, the combination of its rich score and masterful choreography is sure to dazzle viewers. Gaillard Center, 95 Calhoun St. Friday & Saturday, 7:30pm. $130-$30.
