Fall Tours of Homes & Gardens
Take a stroll under the lights of Charleston’s finest doorways at this year’s Fall Candlelight Tours of Homes and Gardens, hosted by the Preservation Society of Charleston. The Preservation Society is a small group of Charlestonians concerned with the increasing threat to one of America’s outstanding collections of 18th-, 19th-, and 20th-century architecture. This fall tour is the society’s annual primary fund-raising project, helping to further the aim of preserving the architecture of our region. Edgar Allan Poe: Back from the Grave
Prepare for a scare during a frightening night of interactive performance put on by Creative Spark Center for the Arts. Fort Moultrie transforms into an enchanting stage set with special effects from Wonderworks Lighting and Sound. As you explore the labyrinth, armed with only a flashlight, don’t get lost—or spooked—as you find dramatizations of Edgar Allan Poe’s poems and stories lurking in the shadows. You might even run into Poe himself. If courage allows, stick around for good eats provided by Poe’s Tavern. VIP tickets offer a buffet and bar prior to the event. Kiawah Island Home Tour
Kiawah Island opens its gates to one of the most
exciting home tours in the area. The tour showcases six luxurious island residences, each unique in its
architectural design and situated on ocean, river, and marsh-front lots. Participants receive a program guide including a map and color photographs with design details of each home. Light the Night Walk
Join the community in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s nationwide annual fundraising walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer.
