MISSION STATEMENT

Charleston Fashion Week's^® Model Search and Rock the Runway Competition™ is a unique opportunity that supports and showcases a community of up-and-coming and undiscovered talent in the realm of runway modeling.  Our mission is to provide a platform for aspiring models to gain the attention of some of the top model scouts & agents, media, photographers, and press in the country. 

CHARLESTON FASHION WEEK^® MODEL SEARCH AND COMPETITION OVERVIEW

Models are cast in Charleston and chosen by a model panel of judges for the 2013 Charleston Fashion Week^® model book based on an industry standard of criteria – appearance including photogenic appeal and facial structure, poise, professionalism, commercial appeal, and runway walk.  Local retailers & bridal boutiques, the Emerging Designer "Top Design 20" semifinalists, as well as various featured designers from all over the country, select and dress models to strut their stuff on the runway Tuesday, March 19 through Saturday, March 23, 2013.  Chosen by an expert panel of judges, the Top Finalists compete in the 2013 Charleston Fashion Week^® Rock the Runway Model Competition™ held on Friday evening, March 22, 2013, where one male model and one female model will be named the Grand Prize Winners. 

MODEL INCENTIVES AND ROCK THE RUNWAY GRAND PRIZE 

All models selected to participate in a 2013 Charleston Fashion Week^® runway show will receive:

• Visibility in front of fashion industry leaders and the opportunity to be discovered 
• Gift bag valued at more than $500
• Recognition on the 2013 CFW website 

Rock the Runway Grand Prize Winners (one male model & one female model) to receive*:

• $1,000 cash prize
• Mentoring opportunity with industry leader
• Roundtrip airfare to NYC*
• Professional hi-quality composite cards photographed by Charlotte Elizabeth Photographer
• Beauty gift basket compliments of The Cos Bar of Charleston 
• Complete makeover, including cut, color, style, manicure, pedicure, facial waxing PLUS product basket valued at $200 from Paul Michell the School Charleston
